Paul McCartney sings for Obama - and guests join in for backup vocals on 'Hey Jude'

HollywoodNews.com: President Barack Obama had a sing-a-long with Sir Paul McCartney at the White House after presenting the former Beatle with America’s highest musical award. The stellar concert to present Paul with the ‘Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song’ was held in Washington last month and was screened for the first time on TV on Wednesday night (July 28). President Obama, whose wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha were in the audience, said: “It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly half a century since four lads from Liverpool landed on our shores and changed everything overnight.” Sir Paul said: “There could not be a greater place for my band and I to play. It is an incredible honor. Not only to receive this award but to perform in front of this President.” He opened the event with his song, ‘Got to Get You Into My Life.’ After that a host of stars performed his other tunes, including Stevie Wonder, The Jonas Brothers, Corrine Bailey Rae, Elvis Costello and Dave Grohl. To finish, Sir Paul led a rendition of ‘Hey Jude’ in which all the VIP guests and stars joined in.
